In a Riyadh or Dubai conference room, ending a status update in مصري (Egyptian Arabic) when the room is مجلس خليجي (Gulf) is the kind of vowel-shift your counterpart catches, mirrors back, and notes in the follow-up email. Egyptian "عايز" reads as informal in a Gulf room; the Gulf "أبي/أريد" lands better in writing but stays unusual in conversation. Pick your register before you walk in.

In a Cairo or Beirut clinic, saying "منذ متى" (since when) directly after describing a symptom is what separates a useful opening from three follow-up questions. Pain described without a duration reads as a complaint; pain described with منذ البارحة + a body location reads as a clinical fact the doctor can chart.

At a Marrakech or Amman airport, asking "أين المطار؟" (where is the airport?) when you ARE at the airport reads as either panicked or exploitative; asking "أين البوابة رقم ٤٥" (where is gate 45?) is what the information booth is for. Substituting the right noun flips the conversation from confused to clean in a single word.
